Now I’m desperate for something that can handle my chaotic cooking (and occasional neglect). Can you recommend a custom countertop material that’s both heat-resistant and idiot-proof? Bonus if it doesn’t make my kitchen look like a lab. Budget is mid-range, but I’ll splurge if it means no more meltdowns (literally). Help a clumsy chef out!

Smoke, sadness, and a scorch mark that looked like a portal to another dimension. I switched to quartz after that (had mine done through Edstone ) and haven’t looked back. It’s survived everything from flaming sambuca spills to my toddler’s “cooking.” Heat-resistant, looks classy without the “mad scientist” vibe, and honestly, pretty forgiving. Worth the splurge for kitchen sanity!
